Tanjong Pagar Nasi Lemak - Tanjong Pagar

I have been to this hawker center in Tanjong Pagar many times and this stall always escapes my tummy. Because No.1 - it closes early. they only serve breakfast and lunch. No.2 - the queue can be quite long during lunch time.

I told myself, i will not go home unsatisfied today so i braved the lunchtime crowd... and heat... and went to get my 2.50 nasi lemak.
Consisting of Otah, fish cake, Chicken Wing, Fried egg and quekiam. It was worth the money you are paying. What i like about Nasi Lemak stalls with long queue is that you are assured of getting your fried items freshly cooked.

Everything was tasty and satisfying. Now i know why the queue here is very long and why it is sold out by 2pm. Closed also on weekends and holidays

China Whampoa Home Made Noodle - Whampoa Food Center

I dont know what it is about noodle soup that i really like. Is it the comfort of sipping hot soup? or the slurping of hot noodles that remind us of childhood days. Whampoa Market near Balestier road has a up and comning famous hand made noodle place.

And the lines here are very evident that the food here is good. They even take orders via phone so be ready to wait for your food,
This is my order of meatball and prawn in flat noodles.

You can choose what noodles you want, i got this kind just to try..
its is hand torn noodles.. very rustic.. cooked perfectly.. but if you will ask me, i will still go for the traditional thin long noodles, because with this type of noodles..not much slurping is needed.
The great thing about this dish is the clear soup that is flavored by crunchy ikan bilis. plus the use of fresh ingredients.

One of the best noodle soup places for me.. everythign was good from the noodle, to the soup and the fresh ingredients use.. no wonder people flock to eat this.

Bishamon Sapporo Ramen - Funan Digital Mall

Growing up as a chinese kid, i always love eating noodles.. Chinese noodles has always been clear soup, not much toppings and plain tasting.
The ramen scene in Singapore has gotten a boost during the past year as a lot fo ramen places keep on sprouting up. Among the chain of ramen restaurants is this one which i tried at Funan Digital mall.
Specializing in sapporo style ramen. Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, and in japan is one of the most famous places to eat ramen. The miso style which i orderd here

is their most famous bowl, served with slices of char siu. The soup i found to be a bit watered down. not very strong miso taste. The noodles were nice and very QQ.
Another dish that i ordered was one of their ramen salad.
I tried the Salmon ramen salad. Dresed very lightly with a citrusy sesame dressing. It was a light dish and the salmon was cooked only on the edges. A perfect meal for those who are watching their weight.
There are still a lot of ramen places to try.. and i dont think ill be coming back here in the near future... not yet
