Bishamon Sapporo Ramen - Funan Digital Mall

Growing up as a chinese kid, i always love eating noodles.. Chinese noodles has always been clear soup, not much toppings and plain tasting.
The ramen scene in Singapore has gotten a boost during the past year as a lot fo ramen places keep on sprouting up. Among the chain of ramen restaurants is this one which i tried at Funan Digital mall.
Specializing in sapporo style ramen. Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, and in japan is one of the most famous places to eat ramen. The miso style which i orderd here

is their most famous bowl, served with slices of char siu. The soup i found to be a bit watered down. not very strong miso taste. The noodles were nice and very QQ.
Another dish that i ordered was one of their ramen salad.
I tried the Salmon ramen salad. Dresed very lightly with a citrusy sesame dressing. It was a light dish and the salmon was cooked only on the edges. A perfect meal for those who are watching their weight.
There are still a lot of ramen places to try.. and i dont think ill be coming back here in the near future... not yet

Shimbashi Soba - Paragon

I just love noodles, may it be Chinese la mian, to Japanese ramen, to Italian pastas, to Filipino pancit etc etc. I love slurping long strands of noodles or twirling it around my fork.
Shimbashi Soba is a relatively newcomer here in Singapore Restaurant Business. Singapore is more crazy over Ramen and opening a soba place does seem like a right idea to have us exposed to another type of Japanese Noodles.
Ordered the Chicken teriyaki don with Soba Set- The Chicken Teriyaki was quite nice. Tender Plump chicken cutlets fried perfect coated with a delicious teriyaki sauce that is just perfectly sweet and salty. The soba however was not as “QQ” as I want it to be, maybe because I ate the chicken rice first? I will try ordering the dry soba next time and see how it fares.
THis side salad was just okay.
Located in Basment 1 of Paragon.

KAZAN Japanese Cuisine - Tanjong Pagar

Another Stall in Tanjong Pagar that is raking in the customers.. having a different concept do sometimes help as people tend to be tired of eating the same cuisine all the time. This Japanese Stall I think is one of the first Japanese stall in a hawker center. Serving 11 different items, He tries to do it as fast as possible yet maintaining cleanliness and quality.
Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki don 4.50SGD comes with miso soup. This was a big meal. Huge bowl of good quality Japanese rice.
The chicken piece was also quite substantial. I didn’t like it though that he has to use batter to fry the chicken,
I would prefer the chicken either just grilled or pan fried with just flour to make it crispy. But the teriyaki sauce was delicious.
The miso soup aint that bad also.
Now, am looking forward to try other Japanese stall in other hawker centers
