Ya-Mahyuddin Al-Jailani Restaurant - Outram

Prata places are scattered all around Singapore. THe good ones now are relatively harder to find. Most of the shops just get their pratas from a supplier and the art of making your own prata dough is fast becoming a rarity. Looking for a place to eat breakfast one time. I chance upon this place..
just near Singapore General Hospital.
Not a lot of people eating. This is perhaps the only 24hr prata place in the area and i was hungry for prata so i grab myself a seat and tried it out.
Mushroom and cheese prata--

well, the prata was not as fluffy as i want it to be. And the lack of adequate mushroom and cheese inside, didnt help the dish as well.
Tissue Prata-

THis one was better, made really well, crispy and the butter and sugar was just the right amount, not too greasy and not overly sweet.
Perfect with a glass of Milo Dinosaur!!
Which tasted good and not diluted.

Casuarina Curry Restaurant - Thomson Area

Too some.. prata is everyday food, a lot even eat it for breakfast paired with coffe or teh tarik, for me.. Prata is definitely an indulgence. I described this piece of pastry as Asian Croissant. Its light in appearance but heavy on the stomach, and I love it very much. This place was recommended by the Makan Guru himself.. KF Seetoh. Here in Casuarina Curry, They still make their own prata dough.
Ordered a PRATA Plaster and a Paper prata. The prata plaster was basically a Kosong.. which is a plain prata with a fried egg stuck..
or plastered to it. The paper prata is a thin and crispy prata. Both were nicely done. Eaten with gravy. The prata has the numerous layers that I like. The paper prata was crispy yet not too thin . Both were delicious. And I was satisfied.
And to wash it down.. a cold glass of Mango Lassi. Goooooood… just right combination with the prata.

Mr. Teh Tarik - Changi Road, Geylang Serai

Teh tarik to those who don’t know is “pulled tea”,. It’s a way of cooling tea then the person making it pulls the tea from one pot to another causing it to be cooled at the same time created air bubbles to make a nice airy creamy beverage. I love milk teas that’s why I love teh tarik, but I like it with ice though.
Here is an order of iced Teh Tarik. Creamy, and very nice. Not too sweet. Perfect to partner it with Prata. Here is the banana prata I ordered, I wanted prata tissue but they say it was not available. Too bad. Sadly they don’t make their own prata dough and just order it from a supplier. It was just mediocre.
