Tanjong Pagar Fried Kway Teow - Tanjong Pagar

Tanjong Pagar Hawker center is perhaps one of the busiest hawker center during lunch time. Its hard to get a seat. and you can see those rectangular plastic tissue thingies saving seat and table..
There are two Char Kway Teow Places that commands long queues, THe other one i already posted
This is the other one,
beside the Famous Nasi Lemak place that i will be featuring in the near future.
to compare this with The other Kway teow place..

this is the lighter version in terms of oilyness and sweetness. Both have good wok hei and fry their kway teow very well.. I will go here for lunch and go to Peter for dinner as this place only opens for lunch..

YA KUN KAYA TOAST ICE CREAM

Ice cream that doesnt melt quickly.. to see is to believe..
I have heard from friends and read on other blogs about this ice cream in Ya kun kaya that just doesnt melt that easily.. so when i had a chance to try it, i just had to observe and see iif it really doesnt melt
Ordered an assortment of flavor, from Durian, to strawberry, chocolate and cookies and cream..

i like the cookies and cream the best and here is the picture form the time i got it from the counter

and this is the picture 7 minutes after..
indeed, it didnt melt..
Anyway, i like the treat.. just like the ice cream you can get from the street but here the bread is toasted slightly so you get a slight crunch while eating it. A great way to cool down in the humid Singapore weather.

Somerset Delicacies - Maxwell Food Center

Maxwell food Center in my honest opinion ranks among the best hawker center in Singapore. There are a lot of Choices, whether you come here for breakfast lunch or dinner. Coveniently located near Chinatown and the Tanjong Pagar area. This is also one of the more famous hawker centers in the island. Going about my routine of checking out the whole center first before deciding what to eat, I chose this place with beautiful pictures.
Especialising in stir fried dishes.. well.. stir fried rice and stir fried noodles to be exact.
Ordered myself a Seafood Horfun Dish.. which came out looking like this..
I like that the noodles were cooked just right and the soy sauce blended the horfun evenly not like in other stalls that it comes in ugly patches.. The amount fo seafood were substantial.. but sadly.. it lacked in seasoning... the size of the dish was good for one hungry man or two semi hungry individuals.
