Bishamon Sapporo Ramen - Funan Digital Mall

Growing up as a chinese kid, i always love eating noodles.. Chinese noodles has always been clear soup, not much toppings and plain tasting.
The ramen scene in Singapore has gotten a boost during the past year as a lot fo ramen places keep on sprouting up. Among the chain of ramen restaurants is this one which i tried at Funan Digital mall.
Specializing in sapporo style ramen. Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, and in japan is one of the most famous places to eat ramen. The miso style which i orderd here

is their most famous bowl, served with slices of char siu. The soup i found to be a bit watered down. not very strong miso taste. The noodles were nice and very QQ.
Another dish that i ordered was one of their ramen salad.
I tried the Salmon ramen salad. Dresed very lightly with a citrusy sesame dressing. It was a light dish and the salmon was cooked only on the edges. A perfect meal for those who are watching their weight.
There are still a lot of ramen places to try.. and i dont think ill be coming back here in the near future... not yet

YA KUN KAYA TOAST ICE CREAM

Ice cream that doesnt melt quickly.. to see is to believe..
I have heard from friends and read on other blogs about this ice cream in Ya kun kaya that just doesnt melt that easily.. so when i had a chance to try it, i just had to observe and see iif it really doesnt melt
Ordered an assortment of flavor, from Durian, to strawberry, chocolate and cookies and cream..

i like the cookies and cream the best and here is the picture form the time i got it from the counter

and this is the picture 7 minutes after..
indeed, it didnt melt..
Anyway, i like the treat.. just like the ice cream you can get from the street but here the bread is toasted slightly so you get a slight crunch while eating it. A great way to cool down in the humid Singapore weather.

il Gelato Di Bruno - CityLink Mall, Raffles City

If you guys have been passing by the CityLink Mall.. you should have notice this palce nbeing built, and i was waiting for it to open and even more excited for this place to open than Hershey's Chocolate world.

This place has been open for the past 3 weeks, and scooping delectable gelatos.
You can try out different flavours first before ordering

They also allow you to mix and match flavours. Up to three flavours per serving. Sizes are small , medium and large
My order of Vanilla and Whiskey cream(small).

Botj of which are quite good, the consistency is really that of Gelato, Dense and creamy. No icy mouthfeel here. The vanilla was great and you can see they use real vanilla beans which i like, the Whiskey cream had just the right amount of alcohol in it. Very very nice.
They have an ongoing PROMO. 50 percent off on the prices from 6pm to 10pm, Sundays to Thursdays. So, from 6 SGd for the small serving, it goes down to 3SGD.
TRy it out.:)

Fish & Co. - many branches all over Singapore

Being Colonized by The Bristish, Singaporeans do love Fish and Chips, there are a lot of places that offer this delicacy. There is the humble "Chipper" that you can find at "food courts" inside malls. THere are a lot of restos like Fisheros, Manhattan Fish Market, Smiths in Katong, and the list goes on and on.... Even in hawker center you would find fish and chips in stall selling western food.
I dont know if anyone would argue, but one of the franchise that does fish and chips well is FISH & Co...
Beer Battered.. crispy on the outside, soft, juicy and flaky inside..

Everytime, i eat here, the fish and Chips have been consisntent, in quality and the way they cook it. Yummy...
Being in singapore.. you definitely will be serve chili sauce....:)

This drink with fruit syrup, is nothing great...
next time i would just order water... hahaha

Yami Yogurt - lots of branches around Singapore

Yogurt is fast becoming also becoming a craze here in Singapore, like bubble tea. Yogurt places have been opening just about everywhere. From Yoguru, to Red Mango, etc etc. I recently tried this place in Ion Food Hall at basement 4, called Yami Yogurt.

I was happy that they have HONEYDEW Melon flavor. As a lover of Honeydew melons, i just have to order and find out how it taste like:)

It looks like honey dew, not as creamy as Yoguru, but it has the "tangy" taste that i like about yogurt. It was okay lah, not really the best soft serbed yogurt around, but if like Honeydew, do try this one out.

Riverside Indonesian BBQ - Kopitiam, Plaza Singapura

Here in Singapore, when you ask about indonesian food, the most famous dish would be aside from Nasi Goreng, is Ayam Penyet. THey Super Spicky Fried Smashed Chicken. Let me introduce you to its Darker Grilled Brother. The Ayam Panggang
Located in the 4th floor of Plaza Singapura Mall. This stall always has the longest queue, and i dont question why. The chicken here is terrific

Here is the complete dish, consisting of Chicken thigh and leg, doused in a sweet sauce, A serving of rice doused with delicious curry sauce then a fired egg and sambal on the side.... plus soup.

Everything just goes together so perfectly. The Sweetness of the sauce, the spicyness of the sambal and the curry
Now, i have to find if there are other stalls in Singapore that could better this stall. But acoording to my friends, this is the best so far.

Tavolo - Parco Marina

Parco Marina Bay, is one of the newest malls opening here in Singapore. And on the topmost floor of this mall houses a conglomerate of Japanese restaurant and this lone Italian Restaurant which I had the pleasure of trying.
Freebies: Cut up foccacia bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip.
warm bread.. i like it when they give the effrot to making your bread warm beofre serving it
Tossed salad with walnuts and dried fruits and mascarpone cheese-
THe creaminess of the cheese , cuts through perfectly with the tnaginess of the salad dressing, then the sweet dried fruits add another flavor component to let you tongue be excited
Panini with parma ham, arugula and fresh mozzarella cheese-
This was very good, the warm, crispy bread, the salty parma ham, the creamy mozzarella and the peppery arugula, everything was blended well together. One of the hgihlights of the meal
Gnocchi with Salmon and fish roe and kiwi-
This was just okay, ordered it, because the dish was unique as it used fruits in a savory pasta dish which i usually dont find.

Squink ink plasta with seafood-
this was very good. plasta was deliciously aldente, the seafood was well cooked and the flavour was very evident.
Four cheese Risotto-
this was the worst dish of the meal. it was bland and the risotto was too wet
Tiramisu-
this was made well. moist but not overly wet. Goos coffee and chocolate taste

Grandma's - Paragon Orchard

Now, this place specializes in local cuisine, from Char Kway toew to Chicken rice to Cze Char cuisine, You can find it here but in a cleaner, aircon environment. So don’t expect to pay Hawker Prices.
Honey Chicken- this was just ordinary, you can get from a Cze char restaurant. Though it was cooked well, I love the rice, fluffy and steamed just right.
Calamari rings were also not outstanding. Just ordinary. though it was cooked well and noy gummy.
Mango Pudding with Sago- was good, even if looked sad and unappeting, Could use a bit more crushed ice and add a bit more color to the dish.
