Tanjong Pagar Nasi Lemak - Tanjong Pagar

I have been to this hawker center in Tanjong Pagar many times and this stall always escapes my tummy. Because No.1 - it closes early. they only serve breakfast and lunch. No.2 - the queue can be quite long during lunch time.

I told myself, i will not go home unsatisfied today so i braved the lunchtime crowd... and heat... and went to get my 2.50 nasi lemak.
Consisting of Otah, fish cake, Chicken Wing, Fried egg and quekiam. It was worth the money you are paying. What i like about Nasi Lemak stalls with long queue is that you are assured of getting your fried items freshly cooked.

Everything was tasty and satisfying. Now i know why the queue here is very long and why it is sold out by 2pm. Closed also on weekends and holidays

Tanjong Pagar Fried Kway Teow - Tanjong Pagar

Tanjong Pagar Hawker center is perhaps one of the busiest hawker center during lunch time. Its hard to get a seat. and you can see those rectangular plastic tissue thingies saving seat and table..
There are two Char Kway Teow Places that commands long queues, THe other one i already posted
This is the other one,
beside the Famous Nasi Lemak place that i will be featuring in the near future.
to compare this with The other Kway teow place..

this is the lighter version in terms of oilyness and sweetness. Both have good wok hei and fry their kway teow very well.. I will go here for lunch and go to Peter for dinner as this place only opens for lunch..

Katong(Peter) Fried Kway Teow - Tanjong Pagar

Char Kway Teow is perhaps one of the most difficult Hawker food to prepare and to be good at it, it should be fired upon order and not by batches. I have eaten my share of Char Kway Teow around singapore. Had my share of good and bad ones.
Here in Tanjong pagar Food Center, there is a relatively young man who makes a mean Char Kway Teow. And I like the fact that he add shrimps to his Char Kway Teow
THis is the 3.00SGD portion of Char KWay Teow, which has good amount of cockles, chinese sausage and two shrimps.
The aroma was indeed intoxicating, Very good wok hei as the noodles were just the right consistency neither too dry or too wet. It tasted good. Now i dont wonder why during lunch time, the queue here is long.

KAZAN Japanese Cuisine - Tanjong Pagar

Another Stall in Tanjong Pagar that is raking in the customers.. having a different concept do sometimes help as people tend to be tired of eating the same cuisine all the time. This Japanese Stall I think is one of the first Japanese stall in a hawker center. Serving 11 different items, He tries to do it as fast as possible yet maintaining cleanliness and quality.
Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki don 4.50SGD comes with miso soup. This was a big meal. Huge bowl of good quality Japanese rice.
The chicken piece was also quite substantial. I didn’t like it though that he has to use batter to fry the chicken,
I would prefer the chicken either just grilled or pan fried with just flour to make it crispy. But the teriyaki sauce was delicious.
The miso soup aint that bad also.
Now, am looking forward to try other Japanese stall in other hawker centers
